I Heart Taxes

CheneyDaily Grind6 Comments

I’m a poor person, therefore I love doing my taxes.

You’d think that would be the opposite, but it’s not. These are no longer the times of Oliver Twist, the paupers aren’t taxed to death. We that hover near the poverty line do okay at tax time, or at least, let me speak for myself as a single mother who owns no property.  The day that I get my W-2 form from work is one of my favorite days of the year.

Sorry folks who hate paying taxes.

I’ve never had to pay taxes, you know why? I’ve never made enough money to afford that sort of “inconvenience.”

To make enough money that the government actually thinks you owe them some?

What a horrible thing!

This is sarcasm, if you don’t follow.

I just hate it when people complain about having to pay a lot of federal taxes. I get that state and local/property taxes are whole different monsters depending on the state, but if you’re paying federal taxes you are either in a way better financial situation than I am, or you are doing something wrong.

Just my two cents.

  1. I am in the same position as you – single mother, no property, self-employed, just filed my tax return here in the UK. Sometimes I wish I made enough money to actually have to pay tax. Sometimes I am thankful… at least filling in all the forms is a whole lot easier. 🙂

    1. The grass is always greener… But i’m almost glad i am not middle class… They are making too much for a return but not enought to be able to afford to pay, but they have to.

    1. I agree. I don’t give a moment’s thought from the $ they take out of each paycheck. It’s mythical money I never had to begin with. I just look forward to the windfall.

    1. If you messed up find someone to give you free advice so you dont have the wrong deductions like last year! You probably aren’t taking enough out.
