Oops, I Did It Again

By which I mean I said I was going to do a monthly blogging challenge and keep blogging daily and then I didn’t. What a big surprise there.

So, I took a few days off from blogging.

In that time I’ve had some really shitty days at work, two panic attacks, put up a Christmas tree, tore it down in a fit of rage, then put it back up again because I felt like the Grinch that stole Christmas. I’ve finished two scarfs for gifts, finished pretty much all of my shopping for Elise (including secret tickets to go see the Nutcracker ballet this coming Saturday!) and I’ve gotten hopelessly, can’tstopwon’tstop addicted to Sons of Anarchy.

Elise helped me out in the kitchen:

And I learned that Google + is even more awesome than I thought it was when I realized that if you take a lot of the same kind of picture and then set your phone to auto-upload all of your pics to your free Google storage drive, it automatically creates a gif for you.

Very cool.

Things have been Meh.

I’ve had a lot of car problems, had a lot of doom and gloom over Christmas, which I really don’t enjoy all that much, despite what I want people to think. Now that it’s almost the middle of December I’m looking forward to this year being over and being able to file my taxes, get my return, and get a new car. Then start planning a vacation to see my Grandparents in Florida if there is any money left over to do that, which there probably won’t be.

Sorry if you are reading. This is my memory keeper. I’ll put things here if they’re happening and true, and even if they suck.

I just keep on reminding myself to suck it up and put on a smile for my kid. She deserves it.

  1. Based on how cute she is, I have to agree, she does deserve for you to suck it up! 🙂 I can say that as a parent of a teen boy! I had to suck it up today and dig through the clearance section of Walmart to find swim suit competition props. He’s in a pageant, and there is a swimsuit section… and do you know how hard it is to find floaties in December?!?

I found a shark fin. $12. I totally had to suck that one up, and may have to go turn in my piggy bank to pay for that trip!! But, I love the gif!

  2. She is so cute. You know its good to record your bleh moments too, to look back upon sometimes just to realize how good things might be that day, but we do have those moments, I don’t know what happened to me when I was putting up the Christmas tree, my boys were niggling and I just irrationally reacted and had a hissy fit like an 8yr old myself and stomped off and told them to decorate it themselves..i heard myw ords and was thinking “You should not be behaving like this” but i couldn’t snap out of it and felt terribly guilty that I might have ruined a Christmas tree memory for them that is meant to be good…sighs…hugs to you x

  3. You’ll get there, Cheney, through Christmas, to the tax return, to a new car, to see your grandparents. Don’t let the time of year get you down. Look at that awesome Elise gif!
