Sharing My World – Part 1

CheneyBlogging Challenges4 Comments

I feel like I share my world an awful lot here on Blog Apocalypse, but my favorite bloggers in my reader are all participating in Cee’s Share Your World blogging challenge. She posts a short list of questions every Monday, and we all answer them and get to know each other better. I’m totally down for this.

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?

This is going to sound weird, but I’m only a hugger when I choose to initiate the hugging. Sometimes I think hugs are unnecessary and unwarranted, and therefore unwelcome at certain times and in certain places, like all forms of PDA. Also, they can be annoying, and I also find myself annoyed by people who are excessive, flamboyant huggers. This may make me sound cold, but really I just enjoy my personal bubble of space. One of my favorite things to do is snuggle on the couch curled up with Elise and watch TV. When I see my mom I usually grab her and hug her for as long as she will let me, which never feels like long enough. There’s a time and place for everything, I guess is what I am trying to say.

What’s your favorite ice-cream flavor?

I’m going to tell you my two favorite, because they are completely different and neither is better in my opinion than the other.

The first is Ben & Jerry’s Coconut Seven Layer Bar.

coconutseven

It’s described as: Coconut Ice Cream with Coconut & Fudge Flakes, Walnuts and Swirls of Graham Cracker & Butterscotch.

Unfortunately it’s not sold in stores, it’s only available at Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops. The good part is that there is a scoop shop at Mohegan sun, and I go there often enough.

The other favorite ice cream of mine is only available at Disney World.

disneydolewhip

The Disney Dole Whip. Which apparently there is a recipe for so I can make it at home. I may even try doing it! But it seems like I would need to get some ice cream making equipment..

Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?

I prefer exercising my mind, clearly. I read every day, for at least a half hour. Half of the reading I do in a day is in bed before I go to sleep.

I WANT to be the kind of person who likes to exercise my body… but I haven’t gotten there yet.

Are you more of a dog person or a cat person? Why?

I am absolutely more of a cat person. I feel like dogs are too high maintenance for my taste. I already have a child I have to take care of, I don’t want to take care of another animal’s bathroom habits, grooming, feeding, exercising, etc. Also they have a tendency to shed a lot and/or smell bad if you don’t keep up with constant, militant like care. Also they bark and it’s annoying.

(Dog lovers, please don’t waste your time trying to “educate” me about dogs. I’m a 32 year old grown ass woman. I’ve figured out by now that I just don’t really like dogs and certainly don’t want to own one.)

I love cats though, and have had cats in the past. I can’t have animals where I am renting now though 🙁

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week I was grateful for the extra quality time I got to spend with Elise. We had a pretty great week all things considered, and I think that’s worth acknowledging and being appreciative of.

This week, well, I look forward to more of her. She’s become my favorite person to spend time with, and I miss her on days like today when she’s gone 🙁

  1. I’m with you on the hugging, the exercise and the cats! And those ice-creams do look delicious. My favourites are peanut butter cup and salted caramel.

Feel like sharing some thoughts?
